About Us
EC Athletics - Quality Cheerleading, Martial Arts and Tumbling Instruction in a Family Friendly Atmosphere.

Our goal is to produce superior athletes, while at the same time helping each student grow into his or her full potential as a truly great person.  Our programs teach discipline, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and indomitable spirit.  These are the tenants of most martial arts programs, which we expand to all of our programs.  Our belief is that winning is a good measure of our abilities only if we can compete and win against the best while maintaining our self-respect.  In the end, our greatest competitor is ourselves.
Lee & Melissa Ward began this venture in the Spring of 2004 with the dream of instructing children's athletics while maintaining focus on family values.  After several years of operation, as well as a name change, EC Athletics is now poised to become one of the leading instructional facilities in the East Plano area.  Our focus is the same now as it was when we began our operation.  While we have expanded our student base to adults as well as kids, family is still the most important aspect in all of our programs.

Customer testimonials
While gaining new customers is great, we find more satisfaction in keeping long term relationships with our existing customers.  These customers are our best advertising.  Here's what a few of them have to say about us.

“I love Melissa and Lee. They make it into a family-friendly atmosphere. It’s all about caring for the girls… My 6-year-old learned a cartwheel within the first month and my 11-year-old learned a back handspring within three months. After the first year with Electric Cheer, my girls have learned through EC that it takes discipline, commitment, and good attitude to win. Both my girls love the staff, the camps, the road trips, and the great friends they have made. I love the commitment of the coaches and that they work hard to make the practice schedule accommodating for working parents.” - E.T.

"The atmosphere is great! Compared to other competitive teams, you really feel like the coaches care about the girls. My daughter joined the tiny team shortly after the season started and she felt so welcomed by everyone... the other parents, coaches, everyone.  She has learned how to work as a team. She has learned the importance of helping and supporting her other team members." - J.D.
